Second Thanksgiving

Following the two nights of Halloween get togethers, Trudy and i were invited to spend a kind of Thanksgiving with our bosses, the Penstones, and their daughter Katie (and her bf Josh). Trudy brought along her newly arrived boyfriend, Peter, who appears to be a delightful fellow.
It was a very nice evening. Very comfortable. [...]

The Last Samurai

I watched this movie again today. And wept for them at the end. I am not ashamed to shed tears for beauty. I did the same for Braveheart and Gladiator. Last Samurai is a wonderful movie, and carries several important messages.
One of these is the sad truth that man is a small minded, cruel [...]

Halloween 2007 - Second Party

Once again, the party was filled with couples, and I stood alone. Well, this time it was much more fun. I have grown much more amenable to Natalie, and now Adam’s girlfriend Amanda as well. Much more open minded. I was wrong to judge them negatively before. They are good people, and Brad and Adam [...]

Halloween 2007 - First Party

Well, being the only single guy in a house full of couples was fine for the most part. And everyone I met at Trudy’s friend’s house was really nice, and very friendly. A good group of people. I am thankful they invited me.

Oh, and Chae Jung An is [...]

Happy Birthday, Susie Law!

Relinquishing Your Past, Moving Forward

I spoke at length with my boss at lunch today. I wasn’t planning on being so frank with him, but he was speaking to me like I was his son, and it came naturally to speak to him like a father.
He believes you can’t be friends with an ex. It doesn’t matter what the ex-lovers [...]

Stress and Complete People

Stress. I hate it.
I never really thought I was affected by it as a kid. As a kid you kind of go through life bored. One day comes after the next. You wake up, go to school, come home, eat dinner, watch tv. It was routine and never seemed to end. Basic necessities were [...]

Unexpected Character Developments

Following my breakup with Susie in April 2007, and a subsequent period of absolute heartache the strength of which I was shocked to experience, I began to devote more serious time to writing. I also undertook my present full time job at EnviroPerfect Solutions with Tim and Susan Penstone and Trudy Spooner. The combination of [...]

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
by Stephen Covey
I’m usually the first to pass by the “self improvement” book section. Most of them are crap that ask you to change superficial facets of your outer personality, basically telling you to wear a fake smile and live a life of lies.
But when my boss, [...]
